  • Italian Chamber of Commerce Office Unit 1102-03, 11/F, 299QRC, 299 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan (map)

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao, in collaboration with the Green & Circular Economy Committee, is pleased to present: Sustainability Day | ESG Practices Training Sessions in celebration of the Sustainability Month on Friday, May 8, from 9 AM - 4 PM. This one-day, three-segment ESG training programme is designed for company employees who want to turn sustainability from a concept into daily practice. It offers a focused and interactive learning journey showing how every individual contribution matters – at work and in everyday life – in building a more sustainable future. Participants will gain practical tools, real business examples, and clear next steps to integrate ESG thinking into their roles.

Segment 1 – Climate Change: Why Energy Transition Matters

In the first session, we explore how new regulations in China and Europe are accelerating the race to a low-carbon economy and reshaping corporate strategies. Hosted by Walter Marin, ICC Green and Circular Economy Committee Member and Founder & Chairman of Plug the Impact Limited, this segment will cover:

  • Small Steps, Big Impact: How companies can drive meaningful energy change through practical, incremental actions.

  • Decarbonizing the Supply Chain – Scope 3: Understanding and managing emissions beyond your direct operations.

  • From Supplier to Customer: How collaboration across the value chain can cut carbon together.

Segment 2 – Social: The Race Beyond Compliance

The second segment focuses on the "S" in ESG and how companies are moving from basic compliance to genuine social impact. Hosted by Valentina Giannella, ICC Green and Circular Economy Committee Member and Marketing & Sustainability Manager at Visottica Group, this session will highlight:

  • Giving Back to the Territory: The case of Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A and its support to local communities.

  • Caring for Our Workers: Visottica Group's experience in China and people-centred practices.

  • Tracking Progress: How tools such as ESG One and the support of institutions like HKPC can help enterprises measure, report, and improve their social performance.

Segment 3 – Reducing Packaging and Embracing the Circular Economy

The final segment dives into circular economy principles and practical ways to reduce packaging waste. Led by Simon Ng, CEO of Business Environment Council, this interactive session will cover:

  • The Packaging Reduction Charter and best practices to minimize packaging waste.

  • The state of circularity in Hong Kong.

  • Local policy and regulations.

  • Current business practices and readiness.

  • Key barriers and opportunities for progress.

By the end of Sustainability Day, participants will have a clearer understanding of key ESG themes: climate, social impact, and circular economy and leave with actionable insights they can apply within their own teams and organizations. This training is ideal for employees at all levels who wish to actively contribute to their company's sustainability journey.
