The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) offers high-quality education and conducts internationally oriented research in economics, international business management, public policy, governance, and sustainability. Our approach centres on small-scale teaching supported by electronic learning environments and a portfolio of international programmes, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary solutions to global challenges.
SBE's educational innovation is driven by Problem-Based Learning, focusing on skill development like problem-solving, group work, and self-directed learning to prepare students for the global knowledge society. This hands-on approach ensures SBE students are well-prepared to tackle real-life business cases, equipping them with practical experience and fostering a global mindset.
The International Relations Office (IRO) manages global internships and student exchanges. With over 180 exchange agreements in 46 countries, IRO oversees up to 1200 students studying abroad, welcomes about 750 international exchange students, and facilitates over 600 internships annually, including more than 70 in emerging markets
