About the Speakers

Panel 1 

Giovanni Musillo, General Manager Zalora Hong Kong

Giovanni joined the company in 2014 and currently heads ZALORA Hong Kong, leading the performance and the brand acquisition within the market. His scope of expertise encompasses managing Buying, Pricing, Offline Marketing, Partnerships and Alliances, Product and Management. He contributed to the transformation of the brand acquisition model of the company and helped along the on-boarding of various international brands at ZALORA. Prior to ZALORA, he served as an engineer at the center of research at University of Lipetsk (Russia). Giovanni used to be a professional volleyball player playing for the Italian national youth team.


James Assersohn, Head of Retail Leasing for Asia Pacific

James is responsible for assisting International retailers looking to expand into the Asia Pacific retail market with location sourcing, deal making, in depth strategy reports and advice. Based in Hong Kong and covering the Asia Pacific region James has advised some of the biggest and best International retailers and landlords with their real estate strategies. Most recently James has been working with companies such as Calzedonia, Nike, Jack Wills, LVMH, Penhaligon’s, Devialet, Merlin Entertainments, PINKO, Dr. Ci: Labo, 6ixty 8ight, Rapha and Birkenstock to name a few.


Paolo Giannelli, Founder of Area-17 Hong Kong

Paolo is the Founder of Area-17 Hong Kong. Prior to Area-17, he worked as Director and Senior Architect at studios in Florence, Paris, New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Paolo specializes in retail design and architecture. His vibrant creativity enhanced by an in-depth knowledge of technical details, and his detail-oriented approach to design gained him the trust of several luxury brands – among which are Panerai, Tiffany, Prada, Calvin Klein – with whom Area-17 has been consistently working over the past years. Paolo holds a Master in Architecture from the University of Florence and he is a Registered Architect in Italy.


Simone Pompilio, Retail Operations Manager – Asia Pacific – Lululemon

Simone has been living in Asia for 15 years. During his career he has supported the set up and expansion of different retail brands in Asia Pacific. He has an extensive experience in retail operations, business development, and travel retail. Simone is currently supporting the expansion of Lululemon direct retail network across 6 different market in the region.



Theodore Knipfing, Principal of Plus Curiosity Inc.

Theo started the firm, a boutique retail consulting firm based in Hong Kong  in 2017, after a short stint as COO at Husband Retail Consulting, a consultancy focused on advising shopping center developers in Asia, and a 10 year career with global real estate services firm, Cushman & Wakefield, where hemost recentlywas Head of Retail for the APAC region based in Hong Kong, and a member of the firm’s Global Retail Board. Prior to his role as Head of Retail at Cushman & Wakefield, Theo was based in Shanghai for over four years, where he served in an APACrole in Apple’s retail expansion team, and separately in regional management roles with Cushman & Wakefield. Retailers that Theo has represented in his career include Apple, Lululemon, Tesla, A&F, and Ralph Lauren.

Diego Dultzin Lacoste – Co-founder of OnTheList

Diego has a wealth of international retail experience looking after markets in Europe and Asia. From business development to brand management, Diego has worked for some of the leading lifestyle brands in France and Hong Kong, overseeing regional operations. Working for brands such as Chanel, Kenzo, Paul & Joe, JB Martin, Kooples and Maison Ullens, Diego’s extensive career in the luxury retail space is invaluable to the business he co-founded with his business partner, Delphine Lefay. Understandably this knowledge was applied from the get go when establishing OnTheList.


Ernesto Miraglia, Regional Director of Damiani in Asia Pacific

Ernesto, after obtaining a degree in Economics with honors at LUISS University in Rome, worked 8 years in Management Consulting across South-America and Europe in pharmaceutical, government and IT industries, before moving to Hong Kong in 2005. He has been the Director of the Italian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010, and has joined Damiani Group in 2011.


John Steere, President of MyMM

John is the President of MyMM, a joint venture between the Lane Crawford Group, Wharf Holdings Company and eCargo. John has 25+ years of experience in digital, marketing, social media, management and e-commerce, on the client and agency sides of the business.  After stints in various professions, legal – Coudert Brothers, telecommunications – AT&T and technology consulting – Gartner he started his first company in NYC, which provided marketing and digital solutions for corporations focusing on emerging multicultural (Asian American) markets in the USA. The majority of his career was spent in advertising, marketing, activation, shopper and digital, on the agency management side of the business. From DDB, McCann, Saatchi & Saatchi, McCann & Publicis – in Taipei, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Bangkok and Singapore. He also started two more agencies in the shopper marketing and digital media space, one of which was sold to Publicis. A three year stint in the corporate world with Visa International as regional head of marketing for SE Asia, solidified his APAC regional experience and integrated marketing competence. He decided to go back to his tech roots and joined an online video marketing platform in Shanghai as CMO. He has found his calling as President of MyMM, a Chinese social commerce community for users, creators and brands to share experiences, content and fashion, allowing you to discover new ways to enhance your lifestyle.


Vincenzo Troia, Country Manager FOR YOOX APAC

Vincenzo arrived in Hong Kong in January 2014 with YOOX Group and he is now leading the YOOX.COM business in APAC at YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP. As part of it since 2011, he has experienced the growth of the group that, founded 17 years ago, became the world’s leading online luxury fashion retailer. Starting from a marketing background, his today’s mission is to study and understand the local consumer, deploying a customized strategy to expand the YOOX proposition into the fastest growing Asian markets.



Marc Ardisson, Feelunique Managing Director Asia

With 20 years of experience in the eCommerce, Marc managed several Digital activities in Fashion, Cosmetic, Luxury, and Life-Style industry working for Brands, Agencies, and Retailers. His experience includes working as Global Digital Director for Chanel cosmetic based in Paris and New York, run international Nespresso account for McCann Erickson agency, distribute brands on omnichannel projects in Asia for Louis Vuitton, Amore Pacific, L’Oreal, Samsonite, Under Armour and many other clients. Based in Hong Kong, he joined as their Asia Managing Director handling the UK cosmetic growth from Hong Kong.

Francois Chabaudie, Co-founder & CEO – Neoma Ltd.

Francois heads up Neoma which offers a customized experience in-store and online targeted content from past store visits. Combining different technologies such as IoT, AI and location intelligence, Neoma covered 3M+ sqf, worked with 20+ recurring clients (Landmark, JCDecaux, Swire Properties) and accumulated 25 years of experience in location-based technologies. Scope of experience: Management, Sales, Strategic Planning, Data Analysis and Product Development.


Ivano Poma, CEO of Outlet Global Management in Hong Kong, Executive Director of Outlet China Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the Outlet China Association (Beijing) of China General Chamber of Commerce

Mr. Poma’s 25+ years career in Asia spanned from Supply Chain Management, to distribution, retail and Real Estate development and management. As SVP and MD at Li & Fung Group for over 12 years, the world’s leading conglomerate in the Supply Chain’s sector, with operations in over 40 Countries and 20+ Billions U$ turnover, Mr. Poma managed several Companies and worked in Taiwan, HK, China, India and Turkey. After a few years with Moncler Group, serving as MD and subsequently as Executive Director of the Asian subsidiary, Mr. Poma moved to the Real Estate sector where he was co-founder of the Asian arm of RDM.


Silvia Tagliaferri, Tourism Director – Fidenza Village

Silvia is in charge of developing and planning strategies in Italy and internationally to make Fidenza Village an exclusive shopping tourism destination for luxury markets, with a special focus on international markets. She also supports and develops relationships with local and regional governments and Chambers of Commerce. Before joining Value Retail, Silvia was Sales and Marketing Manager for Cathay Pacific in Italy and Malta, overseeing all sales, marketing, reservations, ticketing, customer service and recruitment operations and managing those teams. Before this, she was Cargo Manager Italy for Cathay Pacific from 1996 to 2006, when she was responsible for setting up the airline’s cargo division in Italy.
