How the Coronavirus Affected the Hong Kong Business – The Italiancham Report

The Italian Chamber is pleased to share the results of the survey "The impact of the Coronavirus on Business" conducted between February 14th and February 21st 2020.

84 members of the Italian Chamber shared their opinions and views on the current situation in Hong Kong and Macao, by replying to a questionnaire aiming at defining the impact of the Coronavirus on the business community.

More than 90% of the respondents reported a medium to great extent impact on their business and the majority of them are companies operating in the Fashion/Textile, Food/Drinks/Wine, Logistics/Supply Chain and Accountancy/Consultancy.

The primary consequences of this situation are the delay or complete cancellation of business meetings with Overseas and Local partners, postponement of business decisions and action plans for the near future. The results of the survey help to have the full picture on how the outbreak is affecting the day-to-day activities and the long-term companies’ planning in order for the Chamber to implement the right initiatives to support and assist the Members in the most effective way.
