Milano Design Film Festival is an annual rendez-vous with cinematography and design. It gathers stories of designers and architects, styles and avant-gardes and reports on social themes spanning from urban life to environmental concerns, putting the audience in contact with the most contemporary design and architecture theories and stating that everything we use, everything that concerns our lives is bound to design. All these stories, all these films are each and every one of us.
SOCIETÀ DEL DIVENIRE | THE SOCIETY OF BECOMING
Speed, acceleration, transformation, change. Keywords that mark and govern our daily lives.
Everything is in continuous motion and often, our gaze becomes confused. Man seems to lose his centrality and an autonomous individual sometimes risks becoming number or algorithm, while cities destined to be the most inhabited and crowded places on planet Earth, will be increasingly organized by sophisticated technologies and artificial intelligence.
On this vertiginous ridge, present, past and future are all key players: memory is the compass that guides us and keeps our Homo Sapiens essence alive, the present is about experimentation and correction, the future is the vision and hope of an improved and better designed world.
Within this matrix, we have identified some films that introduce and analyse these different temporal moments through key themes of contemporaneity such as Urban Nature, Greenery in The City; City Lives; City Stories; Food Evolution; Traditional Food; Rituals for Survival; Italian Memories; Italian Creativity; Examples of the Excellence of Doing and Thinking.
