About the Speakers

Stefano Passarello, Managing Director, People & Projects (Part of Hawksford Group) 

Stefano is the Managing Partner of People & Projects (Part of Hawksford Group). He founded P&P in 2007 and has grown the company from Hong Kong to 10 global offices serving 1500 clients. Stefano is the official mentor for various startup programs and is frequently invited to speak about business and entrepreneurship. He is the Treasurer and Board of the Directors of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Vice Chairman of the Chamber’s Retail Committee.

In 2017, Stefano was invited to be the Program Director of StartIT.Asia, an innovative program organized by the Italian Consulate General in Hong Kong to select high potential Italian startups to come to Asia. He has a Master of Finance from Bocconi University, Italy and Master of Accounting from City University of Hong Kong.

 

Richard Grasby, Partner, Charles Russell Speechlys 

Richard has particular experience with offshore structures having worked previously for leading Cayman Islands / BVI law firms. He has been based in Hong Kong since 2009 and is the current chair of the Hong Kong branch of STEP.

In his work experience, he has dealt with practices such as the establishment of special trusts and the advising of wealthy families in respect of private investment vehicles, the advising on English tax issues in respect of residence, domicile and asset ownership and the advising on international trust law and succession issues.

 

Marcus Hinkley, Head of Private Client Services – Asia, Hawksford

Marcus joined Hawksford after a successful 20-year career as a private client lawyer. His broad experience gives him a unique perspective on the private client environment. As a lawyer, he was regularly instructed by entrepreneurs and wealthy families on their business and estate planning needs and this includes advising on wills, trusts, family governance, family offices, private trust companies, family charities, and foundations. He has also spent much of his career advising institutional trustees on their fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities and as such brings an unrivaled level of legal expertise to the role of trustee. Marcus is responsible for the overall management and development of the Private Client business in Asia for Hawksford and in leading that talented team. His role also involves driving intermediary and client relationships.
