Documentary Screening: Time to Turn the Tide on Plastic in Hong Kong

The Italian Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Dutch Chamber, is happy to invite you to come and watch the lunchtime version of “A Plastic Ocean” with us, a documentary to make a difference.

This award-winning film not only uncovers alarming truths about plastic pollution and the threat to human health, but also critically reveals the solutions that can be put into immediate effect to turn the tide.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with expert Patrick Yeung from WWF-Hong Kong. Patrick will discuss with participants on the local situation and how corporates can work together for solutions at source.

Speaker:

Patrick Yeung, Project Manager of Oceans Conservation at WWF-Hong Kong

Patrick Yeung led Coastal Watch, a citizen science project in WWF-Hong Kong, to study the marine litter problem as well as coastal biodiversity in Hong Kong. In this project, WWF-Hong Kong cooperated with various NGO partners and volunteers groups to investigate the sources of marine litter through scientific surveys. From the results of Coastal Watch project, he is developing new strategy for government, community and private sectors to collaborate together and form solution to the marine litter problem, as well as facilitating for regional cooperation.
